Legendary golfer, Tiger Woods, has been involved in a car crash.
Philips News reports that legendary golfer, Tiger Woods, was involved in a car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, United States.
The Sheriff’s Office for Martin County confirmed the accident.
They, however, did not reveal if Woods sustained any injuries, and his condition was not immediately clear.
The crash occurred just after 2 pm local time, and pictures from the scene showed the vehicle lying on its driver’s side.
Woods faces two charges after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a rollover crash on Jupiter Island just before 2 p.m. Friday, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the crash occurred at 281 South Beach Road, which is near Woods’ home.
Budensiek said responding officers could see that the driver of the Range Rover “might be impaired,” prompting them to contact the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff said their investigation later revealed that the truck pulling the pressure-cleaner trailer was traveling northbound on South Beach Road and was starting to pull into a driveway.
“The driver of that vehicle looked in his mirror and saw a (Range) Rover overtaking him at high speeds,” Budensiek said. “He saw it coming, so he tried to edge off the side of the road, but this is a small two-lane road, and there was no shoulder … to get off the side of the road.”
Budensiek said Range Rover “swerved to avoid a collision” but clipped the back end of the trailer, causing Woods’ vehicle to roll over on its side.
After the crash, the sheriff said Woods, who was alone inside the vehicle, was able to crawl out through the passenger’s side door. It was unclear if Woods was wearing a seat belt when the wreck happened.
“Our DUI investigators came to the scene, and Mr. Woods did (exhibit) signs of impairment,” Budensiek said. “They did several tests on him … He was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.”
The sheriff said a “lethargic” Woods complied with a breathalyzer test and blew “triple zeroes” but refused a urine test.
“He’s been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test,” Budensiek said.
Investigators don’t believe Woods was impaired by alcohol, but the sheriff believes it was “some type of medication or drug.”
Meanwhile, PhilipsNews reports that Tiger Woods has been working toward a return to competitive golf after rupturing an Achilles tendon in March 2025 and undergoing back surgery last October.
The legendary golfer was also involved in a car crash in February 2021, and that time the vehicle rolled several times and left him trapped inside.
