1. President Bola Tinubu has sacked Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the economy. Edun was sacked alongside Ahmed Muda Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

2. Bandits have reportedly shot dead two persons while abducting seven people during a raid in Awon community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. A source from the area who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident while speaking to our reporter through the telephone on Tuesday.

3. A fresh case of COVID-19 has been recorded in Nigeria. The case was recorded in Cross River State. Speaking at a news conference in Calabar, on Tuesday, Dr Henry Ayuk, the state’s Commissioner for Health, said the case involved a Chinese national, who worked with Lafarge and flew into the country on March 17, before taking ill.

4. Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court has failed to grant bail to former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai. El-Rufai was arraigned last week on an amended nine-count charge bordering on alleged fraud and abuse of office, filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

5. No fewer than 192 electricity workers and third parties were killed or injured in power-related incidents across Nigeria in 2025, despite a marginal improvement in safety performance in the fourth quarter, findings by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission have shown.

6. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said it is yet to release the results of underage candidates who wrote the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The Board said this in a statement signed by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin on Tuesday in Abuja.

7. The Federal Government will on Wednesday (today) arraign six individuals, including two retired senior military officers and a serving police inspector, before the Federal High Court in Abuja over an alleged plot to wage war against Nigeria and overthrow President Bola Tinubu.

8. The leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party deepened on Tuesday as factional National Chairman, Julius Abure, rejected the judgment of the Court of Appeal, vowing to challenge it at the Supreme Court. Abure, in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, dismissed the appellate court’s ruling, which affirmed the leadership of Nenadi Usman, insisting it ran contrary to established legal principles and party procedures.

9. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has named Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor. This follows the resignation of Comrade Abdulsalam Gwarzo.

10. President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday attributed Nigeria’s development and growth challenges to the failure of previous administrations to adopt serious long-term planning frameworks. Tinubu spoke at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, while hosting a delegation of Enugu State stakeholders led by Gov. Peter Mbah.
