EBS Managing Director Sulaiman Aledeh has resigned.
Philips News reports that the Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), Sulaiman Aledeh, has stepped down from his position, officially ending his leadership of the state-owned media organisation under the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo. His resignation marks the close of his tenure at one of Edo State’s key public broadcasting institutions.
Aledeh said in a resignation letter dated May 30, 2026, and addressed to Governor Okpebholo, that his decision was driven by the need to focus on the next phase of his professional journey as a media practitioner and to pursue other personal interests. He noted that his exit from office takes immediate effect.
The veteran journalist expressed appreciation to the Edo governor for the trust placed in him during his time in office, describing the opportunity to lead EBS as an honour. He also highlighted his satisfaction with efforts made to strengthen and modernise the broadcasting organisation during his tenure.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to Your Excellency for the confidence reposed in me and for the privilege of serving the people of Edo State in this capacity,” he wrote.
The former managing director also expressed appreciation to Edo residents both within the state and in the diaspora for their continued support and engagement throughout his time in office, stressing that public broadcasting plays an important role in bridging the gap between government and citizens.
Aledeh also praised the management and staff of EBS for their professionalism, dedication, and resilience, noting that their commitment to excellence was central to the organisation’s progress and achievements.
He further stated that the workforce contributed significantly to a shared vision of repositioning EBS into a modern, trusted, and forward-thinking public broadcasting institution.
“As I take my leave, I remain confident that the organisation will continue to grow from strength to strength and fulfil its vital mandate in service to the people of Edo State,” he stated.
