Tony Montana said efforts were made to transfer Okemesi to other medical facilities, including a government hospital in Igodo, but admission proved difficult due to a lack of available space.

Fans React as Video Goes Viral

Shortly after the video emerged online, many Nigerians flooded social media with emotional tributes and condolence messages.

Several fans expressed shock over the sudden announcement, while others shared memories of the actor’s performances in popular Nollywood movies.

The viral clip has continued to trend across multiple platforms, with many users describing the loss as another painful moment for the entertainment industry.

Nollywood Continues to Mourn Industry Losses

Over the years, Nollywood has lost several respected actors and filmmakers whose contributions helped shape Nigeria’s movie industry.

One of the most widely discussed tragedies in recent times was the death of Junior Pope, who died in a boat accident in 2024 while returning from a movie shoot.

Veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor also passed away in 2024 after battling kidney-related complications following a stroke.

The industry equally mourned actress Oby Kechere, popularly known as “Ms Koi Koi,” whose death was reported in 2026 after a prolonged illness.

These repeated tragedies have continued to raise conversations about health, safety, and welfare within Nigeria’s entertainment sector.

Tributes Pour In From Colleagues

Actors, filmmakers, and fans have continued to react emotionally to the latest reported death.

Many described the deceased actor as talented, hardworking, and influential in the growth of Nollywood.

Industry stakeholders have also called for unity and support for the late actor’s family during this difficult period.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria has previously expressed concern over the increasing number of deaths and safety challenges affecting actors and movie crews in the industry.

Nigerian Entertainment Industry Faces Difficult Period

The Nigerian entertainment industry has witnessed several painful losses over the last few years involving actors, musicians, comedians, and filmmakers.

Veteran singer and actress Onyeka Onwenu died in 2024 after collapsing shortly after a performance in Lagos.

Many Nigerians say the recent wave of deaths has left fans deeply emotional, especially considering the important role Nollywood plays in African entertainment.

The emotional video surrounding the actor’s reported death continues to gain attention online as fans mourn the tragic loss.
