As Nigerians celebrate the rare convergence of Eid el Kabir and Children’s Day in 2026, the Executive Director of Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH Foundation), Favour Benson, has called on citizens to reflect deeply on the values of compassion, sacrifice, and responsibility towards the younger generation.

In a special message commemorating the dual celebration, Favour Benson described the moment as more than a public holiday, noting that it presents an opportunity for Nigerians to reconnect with humanity, strengthen family bonds, and extend love to vulnerable children and struggling families across communities.

According to her, while Eid el Kabir teaches sacrifice, obedience, and devotion, Children’s Day reminds society of its duty to protect the dreams and future of every child, regardless of their background or circumstances.

She expressed concern over the increasing social and economic pressures affecting many homes, stressing that countless children are growing up without adequate care, emotional support, access to education, or hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Favour Benson urged individuals, religious bodies, corporate organizations, and government institutions to look beyond celebrations and deliberately invest in the welfare, education, mental development, and emotional well-being of children, especially those in underserved communities.

The humanitarian advocate also encouraged Nigerians to revive the culture of kindness and community support, noting that simple acts of generosity can transform lives during difficult times.

Speaking directly to children, she reminded them not to allow hardship or limitations define their future, encouraging them to remain courageous, focused, and hopeful despite life’s challenges.

“Every child carries greatness within them. The society we build tomorrow depends on the love, guidance, opportunities, and values we give our children today,” she stated.

Favour Benson further prayed for peace, healing, and stability across Nigeria, expressing hope that the spirit of Eid el Kabir and the joy of Children’s Day would inspire a renewed commitment to unity, empathy, and nation-building.

She concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful Eid el Kabir celebration and children across the country a joyful, memorable, and inspiring Children’s Day celebration.
