Obasa Reveals Tinubu’s Choice for Next Lagos Governor [Video]

Obasa has revealed Tinubu’s choice for the next Lagos Governor.

Philips News reports that the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has endorsed the governorship ambition of the current deputy governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat.

This online newspaper understands that the Lagos State Assembly Speaker disclosed while speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.

Obasa, who was rumoured to have eyes on the Lagos number one political office, disclosed that he had just arrived from Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, where he met President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who informed him of his decision to endorse the Lagos State deputy governor, Obafemi Hamzat, for the 2027 governorship.

“We’re here because we need to interact, and through interaction, we will know the steps to take”, the speaker said regarding the 2027 election in Lagos.

Obasa continued: “As our leaders have said, we work together, we take decisions together, and it has always been like that up till this moment”. [sic]

“I just came back from Abuja yesterday, and that’s why we’re here to support the position of our father, our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the choice of our incoming (points to Obafemi Hamzat).”

Lagos House of Assembly Speaker enjoined stakeholders to accept President Tinubu’s decision, describing him as a father whose choice should be accepted wholeheartedly.

Meanwhile, PhilipsNews reports that Femi Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Listen is a Nigerian politician who has served as deputy governor of Lagos State since 2019. He was born in Lagos into the family of Late Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat and Late Alhaja Kehinde Hamzat from Iga Egbe, Lagos State.
