Tobi Amusan has won Nigeria’s first Gold Medal at ASAC 2026.
Philips News reports that World record holder Tobi Amusan claimed the women’s 100m hurdles title at the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships on Wednesday.
This online newspaper understands that Amusan’s win was Nigeria’s first gold medal of the competition.
Amusan has now won the women’s 100m hurdles title at the African Senior Athletics Championships three times.
Ashley Miller of Zimbabwe claimed the silver medal, while another Nigerian, Adaobi Tabugbo, finished third.
It was Adaobi’s first individual medal for the country at a major championship.
